What AI-SEO Agency Malaysia Won’t Tell You About AI Optimization

In Malaysia, there is a growing number of SEO providers have begun offering new “AI search optimization” services. You might see them packaged under various names: AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), AI-SEO, or LLMO (Large Language Model Optimization).

Regardless of the above technical term they used, the core objective remains the same: optimizing your website and make it cited and featured by AI engines like ChatGPT, Google Google’s AI Overviews, Gemini or Microsoft Copilot.

However, There are some challenges to make a website cited / appear on AI engines, which most of the SEO providers won’t tell you.

If you are considering investing in AI-SEO / GEO / AEO in Malaysia (whatever you name it) , you need to understand these 4 critical challenges :

The Four Critical Challenges of AI-SEO In Malaysia

1. AI Engines Answers are Highly Volatile and Constantly Shifting

Unlike traditional Google search results, which remain relatively stable day-to-day, AI engines’ answers are fluctuate constantly. If you type the exact same prompt (keyword phrase) on different days, the AI engine will likely generate completely different results.
For instance, if you search for the “best furniture supplier in Malaysia,” Company A might be featured today. Tomorrow, however, the AI might regenerate a fresh response and omit the company A entirely. This is the definition of “generative”—the algorithm synthesizes data on the fly based on shifting real-time preferences, making consistent visibility incredibly difficult to maintain.

2. Al Engines Answers are Hyper-Personalized

AI engines do not provide a universal answer to every user. Instead, They will provide different answer for different people – Due to context of each people is different (such as prompt history, device, location etc) .
For example, a young lady searching for the “best car in Malaysia” will likely receive a completely different set of AI answer than a senior citizen searching for the exact same phrase. Because the AI customizes the answer to match the user’s perceived age, gender, lifestyle, and past prompts. Unlike Google search results, there is no longer a single, standard “Top 10 ” ranking for the searcher.

3. AI Engines Lack Keyword Search Volume Analytics

For anyone experienced with Google Ads, you are likely familiar with Google Keyword Planner. This is a useful SEO tool for digital marketers, providing exact metrics on keyword search volume and historic performance. It allows businesses to filter out unrealistic search keywords and focus on valuable target.

Consider this example comparing two distinct search queries:

As a smart businessman, the choice is obvious. You would target “best coffee machine in Malaysia” because it has active, measurable demand (140 monthly searches) in Google Keywords Planner, whereas the “best coffee machine in Petaling Jaya” keywords is merely zero in monthly search demand.

So back to AI engines optimization, the AI engines don’t show you the statistic of the keywords (prompts) like what you see above in Keywords Planner. Platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot do not publish data regarding prompt search volumes or user query frequencies. This presents a critical blind spot for businesses: How do you validate which prompts are actually worth optimizing for?

If an AI-SEO / GEO / AEO agency Malaysia pitches you with his AI search optimization package promising to get your brand cited for a phrase like “Best [Your Industry] Company in Kuala Lumpur,” you must challenge them with two fundamental questions:

• “How did you validate that this specific prompt is worth targeting?”
• “What is the monthly search volume for this exact prompt?”

I bet you could not find a statifying answer from this SEO agency. Because as of May 2026, there is absolutely no software or native tool on the market that tracks query volume inside ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot. Any agency claiming to know these exact numbers is guessing at best—and this is risking your marketing budget on unverified assumptions.

4. AI Citations Do Not Guarantee Traffic (The Zero-Click Dilemma)

Even if an SEO agency Malaysia successfully make your website cited by AI engines, it does not automatically convert into website traffic. Think about your own user behavior: when you ask ChatGPT or Gemini a question, how often do you actually click on the hyperlinked sources to read further? For most users, it is perhaps 1 or 2 times out of 10.

In the SEO industry, this behavior drives what we call “Zero-Click Searches.” Because the AI synthesizes and delivers the final answer directly on their result, users get exactly what they need immediately, leaving them with no intension to click and visit to your website.  According to the study from Search Engine Journal, only average 6%-11% of people will click the citation in ChatGPT and 1 % of people will click the citation in Google Gemini.

The Bottom Line

If you are paying RM 24,000 to RM 48,000 Ringgit per year for a standalone AI-SEO / GEO / AEO package to an SEO agency in Malaysia, you face two massive risks: either your website fails to get cited consistently due to AI Engines algorithm volatility, or you do get cited but see merely zero growth in actual website traffic.

This is the reason why we position our AI-SEO solutions as an optional add-on package (with very low price) rather than a primary service. We refuse to set unrealistic expectations or lead our clients to believe that AI engine visibility is a guaranteed traffic driver. We protect your investment by prioritizing proven, data-driven traffic strategies over unrealistic AI engine citation that other SEO provides do.
