The “SEO Expert Malaysia” Reality Check
In every industry, you’ll find “self-proclaimed experts” who think reading a few books makes them a master.
The SEO industry is no exception. In my 20+ years of SEO experience, I meet countless of the people who confidently tell me, “This SEO strategy is wrong” or “That SEO won’t work.”
There are two types of critics I often face :
- The Curious: If someone asks with genuine interest, I’m always happy to exchange ideas.
- The Challenger: Then there are those who come at you with a chip on their shoulder, looking for a fight just to prove you “wrong.”
My calm response to the challengers is always: “Where exactly did you get that SEO information?”
Usually, the answer is: “Oh, a friend of mine told me. He also works in a SEO company in Malaysia.”
Letting the SEO Results Talk !
I always offer a simple reality check:
”That’s fine. But does your friend’s own website rank in the Google Top 10? Go ahead and search any of these keywords:
- SEO Malaysia
- SEO Services Malaysia
- Google SEO Services
- Google SEO Agency
- SEO Services
Does your friend’s company show up on page one for any of them?”
“No? Well, no offense, but if someone can’t even rank their own website in Google, how much expertise do they really have?”
At that point, the guy usually goes silent (diam-diam). 😂
The Bottom Line
It is lucky that in SEO, we can “let the SEO rankings do the talking.” Most other industries don’t have a transparent leaderboard, so everyone just argues their own opinion. In SEO world, results are the only thing that separates the true practitioners from the talkers. 😆
